Microsoft 365 Engineer

Position Summary

The position requires a broad range of responsibilities, including the design, implementation, and management of Microsoft 365 solutions, with a particular emphasis on Entra ID & security, DLP (Data Loss Prevention) policies, and Microsoft Purview. Responsible for working with the team to execute projects of varying sizes, cloud aspects of new customer onboarding, acting as a contact on vendor management, and maintaining cloud-integrated systems and tools on behalf of Kinetix. Duties include but are not limited to the following and Kinetix Management Team may assign additional tasks.

 

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities in relation to Microsoft 365 solutions
  • Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 solutions, encompassing Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business
  • Configure and maintain Entra ID & security features within the Microsoft 365 environment to ensure robust data protection, access control, and compliance
  • Implement and manage DLP policies to prevent data leakage and ensure regulatory compliance across the organization
  • Utilize Microsoft Purview for data governance, cataloging, and understanding data usage across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  • Develop and implement security policies, controls, and best practices to mitigate risks and safeguard sensitive information
  • Monitor security events, conduct threat assessments, and implement corrective measures to address potential vulnerabilities
  • Keep updated on new technology, changes, updates and security features then relay to other personnel as required
    • Specifically in Microsoft 365, Entra ID & security, DLP policies, and Microsoft Purview.
    • Consult with staff, managers, and executives about best practices and providing technical advice
    • Work along-side internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Assist with technical guidance, support, and training for the end-users, Kinetix technical and sales staff to ensure services provided match best practices
    • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
    • Provide analytics for meaningful insights
  • Assist with provisioning and maintenance of licensing agreements used to provide cloud solutions
  • Review projects and work requests to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded
  • Perform overall customer satisfaction with regard to company policy
  • Ability to stay current with technology trends

This includes the above-referenced activities and additional assigned tasks to be performed at customer sites and from the Kinetix NOC.

 

Qualifications / Required Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science preferred
  • Proven work experience in Microsoft 365 solutions (minimum 2 years preferred)
    • Strong proficiency in Entra ID & security technologies, including identity management, access control, and data protection
    • Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD) Deployments and Configurations
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and management is a plus
  • Technological/Industry trends
  • Computers and software applications
  • Customer service principles
  • Professional certifications are beneficial in Microsoft Certifications
    • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, or equivalent experience are a plus.

  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license with clean driving record
